Corporate Narration – Rockport Works

As a guy with big feet who has a tough time finding shoes, it was a pleasure to work with one of the most comfortable brand names in North America. Rockport Works was launching a new campaign this year with the help of Atomic Dust, and the crew came to me for some sensible, blue collar voiceover. After so many intense, sports style projects, it was a nice change to just be able to relax and not sell Rockport Works boots.

Political Commercial – Green Party Voice Over

I was excited to voice the spots for the widely-loved, poorly-elected Green Party of Canada. I think all of us have a little Green Party in us. Wanting to be environmentally responsible and recognizing that there are more ways to look at progress than how we do today. These commercials were produced by Keyframe Communications and I couldn’t be happier to be a part of this project.

Medical Narration Voice Over

I got to show off my medical skills with this project. I won’t lie. I did a little rehearsing before my session with the client. They were impressed with my pronunciation skills. I always go the extra mile. If you send me a script, I’ll read it before I lay it down so I actually know what I’m saying before I say it. That’s commitment to the craft. (does my tongue-in-cheek come across in that last sentence?)

Bridgeport CT – Tourism Voice over

This is one of my favorite kinds of commercials to record. Warm, more narrative than announcer. I love being included on a project that is this well shot. And once again, I’m amazed at the dexterity of the voice over industry to be able to work with companies on the other side of the continent.

Looking forward to one day visiting the east coast again. I’ll be sure to plug Bridgeport into the GPS.

Radio Imaging – Christian and Gospel

One of 8 new imaging demos recorded by Dave Pettitt and hosted at Big Fat Image Voice. This demo has a positive uplifting sound to reach a family friendly oriented market. There’s lots of range, humour and great instincts for this radio genre. Christian radio has grown by leaps and bounds over the last number of years including broadcasting in Canada with AM 930 The Light in Edmonton launching in the mid 90′s.

Dave began his broadcasting career at The Light shortly after it went on the air. Later he went on to host the drive then the morning show on 88.9 Shine FM in Calgary. Dave has deep roots in the Christian radio market and knows the value of a postive sound for a format that delivers family programming and Christian values. Here are a few more samples of some the Imaging work Dave has done for Christian radio.

If you’re in Christian radio, you know full well the budget is always FREE!!!! You better have some good resources and make them stretch. Dave and Kel wanted to have some fun morning show theme songs done. Toby Mac wanted $1…. NOPE…. over the budget. So they recorded them themselves. Here’s a couple of good laughs at there attempts.

A second commercial from the All Weather Window People. This commercial is heart warming in a cold season. The real reason you use a superior window is to protect your family, your children from the cold outside. This is a really nice spot with a warm and tender read.

Dave has a natural instinct for bringing and heartwarming sound, with his natural deep resonance. He is often the choice for the Medical fields and professional corporate feel. A voice that brings assurance and compassion to listeners. You’ll appreciate a voice that instills care and concern.

All Weather Windows – The North – AWARD WINNER

This spot may have you wearing a parka before the end of the day. A bone chilling male deep voice over to really depict the cold northern winters of Canada. All Weather Windows shot 2 great spot. This television commercial won for Best Commercial at the 2008 Sam Awards. Despite the deep, low toned, serious sound, you may get a little chuckle at the end. I’m quite proud of this spot.

Oh the mysteries of a …. state fair? This series of spots is a fun approach to all the exciting times that wait at the California State Fair. The client asked for a Don Lafontaine style read for these TV commercials. Very few can do justice to the late Don of the voiceover world. He’s the original and all else will try to emulate his mastery in this genre.

So this is one of several attempts of a movie trailer style voiceover… a little tougher with no, “In a world…”
